Irish dancing

(Thought I would try uploading a picture. This is a picture from last summer with two good friends that I grew up with. We went to NewYork, Philly, and DC last summer).

Irish dancing has got to be one of the greatest dances in the world. I went to watch the Haran Irish dancers and an Irish style band the other night and it was fantastic! It was a combination of music and dancing as well as seperately doing the dance and music. Oh, it was so great that I can't even express it on paper. Just to hear the beat of the music combining with the clogging was mezmorizing. I really enjoy just hearing the clogging by itself and how they can do so many steps and stay together. So, now there is suppose to be a Haran Irish dancing class coming to a city just 50 minutes away and I signed up to get more information about it. I've always wanted to learn since I was about 6 years old and watching the river dance style on tv. I'm just trying to figure out how I could use the dance in order to glorify God too....hhmmmmm....I don't know yet. Maybe there is an Irish dancing ministry somewhere. :)

We are WARRIORS!

Hello again. It's been a while. Well, life has been a little busy lately. Some of you know that I help out with the youth group in my church. Last weekend(Feb.24th and 25th) we went to a youth seminar/rally type of gathering at the Tacoma Dome called Acquire the Fire. Ron Luce is one of the head guys of the rally. It was a great weekend filled with music, challenging messages, drama and the Truth of the Word of God. The speakers challenged the young people to be Warriors of Christ and stand up for the Lord's sake. Everytime the leader person would say Followers of Christ....we would yell out WE ARE WARRIORS!!!! The sessions talked about the battle for their heart and Mind, the battle for their world and the battle for their generation. They talked about the fact that they could change the world by refusing to buy into this worlds lustful and sinful ways. I'd say the main passage of scripture applied was in 1 John 2:15-17.
I learned a lot from joining our youth pastor in the youth leaders only sessions with special speakers. It's amazing how much teenagers culture has changed just since I was in high school. Mind you, it wasn't THAT long ago. I find it amazing how kids can be sitting next to each other and yet they text each other on their cellphones. It's amazing to see how much is available just at the click of a button these days too. Even when you're not looking for bad stuff on the internet, it may just pop up unwanted. This generation is our future and we need to start investing in them NOW. He(Jesus) is the atoning sacrifice for our sins and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2) He wants ALL the world. Are we as Christians willing to be warriors in Christ's army? Are we willing to speak and live in His ways with His strength?
