Life.....Make it Count!

Another day in life can mean so much. You just never know when your last day will be on this earth...make it Count! Recently, I was talking to a friend from the bible school I attended in England and learned that one of students which we were both friends with passed on to heaven. Jen was hit by a car who ran a red light and was killed instantly last October. I've never had another friend pass away that was so close to my age. When it first hit me I just didn't even know what to say, then I just started crying and was in that state of reminiscing all the memories I had of her for the 2 months I got to know her. I just remember her as always smiling and laughing and having a good time being around her. We used to always make her say the word coffee, cause she was from New Jersey and had that real unique accent. I remember also that we were always jealous of her cause she was losing weight and we were all gaining weight at school. We just couldn't figure out her secret and she didn't even know what she was doing either. I didn't get to know her real well, but I know that she is enjoying eternity with our Lord Jesus. I have no idea what God's plan is in all this, but I do know that it's for His Glory! We just have to live daily surrendering our lives to Him and allowing Him to work through us.

gunk, attitude, and carrers

Hmmm....my day at work today consisted of soaking a tile floor and scraping of all the many years of build up underneath a display case. The build up consisted of floor wax with dirt and grime and whatever else you can think of that would be on a hardware stores floor. mmm...Sounds fun huh? Well, actually I didn't even get told to do the job. I was just desperately needing something to do at work besides stand at the counter and wait for customers(they come far and few in the months of January and February). Isn't it funny how when you volunteer to do a job your attitude is so much different than if someone asks you to do a job? I guess it's just more of a duty if your asked to do something rather than volunteering and not expecting anything for it. I didn't finish the job and I have tomorrow off, but I have this feeling it will still be waiting for me come Friday. Lately, I've been thinking about careers just off the top of my head or stores that I go to. Starbucks was one idea: the positive: good benefits and wages that increase, fun atmosphere, I like the service business. the negatives: people are very finicky about their coffee and it's gotta be just right, and the array of customers that they get can be very rude and pushy to say it nicely. It's funny, I've never been a heavy coffee drinker (I usually have one maybe once a month), but I've realized that there are good mochas and very bad mochas. I always feel awkward about telling the coffee people that my coffee was bad, but I want them to know so they can improve. I just haven't got the guts yet to tell them in a tactful way. I'm just jabbering on so I'll quite for tonight.

There really is a sun!

Wow, this blogging thing is coming quite addictive. It's interesting to see how everyone else does their blogs. Life is not too exciting here...Oh, except for the fact that the sun shined all day today! I think it rejuvinated the whole town. If nothing else I sure thought it felt good. It was like a spring day. Although I really would like to be having lots of snow right now, I was sure glad to be having the sun come out rather than another dreary day of rain and clouds. I'm going to have to get a digital camera sometime soon so I can upload pictures and make my blog a little more interesting.

Front or Back Do you think they sound alike?

I have a feeling it's going to be another wedding year for friends. I have one friend that just married and 3 other ones on the way. How exciting! I even get the privalage of being a Maid-of Honor twice now. I am looking ahead and realizing that this is going to be a lot of work helping out and such but it will be fun in the process. I'm still not sure about my future and where I'm headed for schooling and a career and such. Ever just have those times when you're not sure what God wants you to do.....of course, what am I thinking, we are all human aren't we? I do really enjoy my current job at the Hardware and am so thankful for a wonderful place to work. I can't say that every customer is the most pleasent person to help, but that's when I learn to be patient and rely on God. Today I had a guy call on the phone regarding a special order that was suppose to arrive today and I told him it was here and to come to the back entrance. Well, guess what...he came to the front entrance and insisted that I had told him to come to the front entrance. Well, of course I don't think I told him that, but regardless we both had our own beliefs about who said what. I don't know why that frustrated me, but I was sure that I said the back. Anyways, I learned to be kind regardless and just forget about it. As you can see my life has been so very exciting these days in the dull months of retail in January. I did see "The Chronicles of Narnia" twice. I loved it mostly because of the symbolism with Christ and the Lion and the whole story line. It's encouraging to know God is greater than all.
