Random Selections

Happy Belated Valentines Day! This rose is from dinner at the Cafeteria. Each girl received a rose as we walked in and the tables were decorated with fun music playing in the background. We (Jess, Kaitlyn and I) ate a steak, potato and dill carrot dinner. It was all pretty good, except for the overcooked baked potato. I also received Valentines from my niece and nephews which now cover my shelves.

Lastly, I have more of our garbage center share-center. I tried to resist the temptation at 11:30pm when these were left out for grabs. I had two donuts. By early morning, the cake and donuts were gone. We are literally scavengers around here. People see free food and all of the sudden it's gone overnight or within minutes.

What are your stones?

Wow! Isn't the Lord so good to us? You can think the opposite sometimes, especially when your enduring some difficult situation or trial. What is truly amazing is to look back to those past situations and see the Lord's hand in your life and other people's lives.
Joshua and the Israelites were lead by God to complete an impossible task (cross a flowing river without a boat). Now, how is that suppose to work? God said it, now obey and they put their faith into action. The Lord would literally STOP the flow of the rushing river! But, this would require the priests carrying the ark of the covenant to stand in the water first. Once they were in the water, the water stopped and the Israelites were able to pass through dry ground. NOTICE: the ground wasn't muddy or wet, but completly DRY! Getting to my main point: God told Joshua to have twelve men pick up twelve stones each, representing every tribe. They were to bring these stones back as a REMINDER of God's faithfulness in what He had just done for them. When their children asked what the stones represented, then they could pass down the wonderful faithfulness of God! Amazing, huh?!
Have you taken time to write down those times when God has done amazing things in your life or things that you have observed in other people's lives? I encourage you to gather those "stones" in a pile and reflect on our wonderful God. Ask Him to reveal His hand in your everyday life.
PS: There hasn't been many events of our garbage gatherings. I missed one last night where we celebrated a birthday and had chocolate chip cookies. Therefore, I have no pictures to show.
